Master Scuba Diver Trainer Internship
Once you have successfully completed the IDC you have an opportunity to achieve the rating of Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) through our 4-5 day MSDT internship program.
The pre-requisites for the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating are five specialties and have 25 PADI Diver certifications. Once the preparation course is completed you will actually get to teach and certify 25 students in one of our many centers, teaching all levels including entry level Open Water students, Advanced Open water courses, Rescue Diver courses and Specialties. On completion of the internship you will be ready to send your application off to PADI for the Master Scuba Diver Trainer Rating
We will start the internship off by having you team teach with one of our experienced instructors, assisting on several courses from beginner up to Divemaster levels (where possible). Team teaching with an experienced instructor will provide you with valuable hints and tips on how to conduct the courses and provide an insight on how to schedule courses effectively. Once you receive your teaching status as an OWSI from PADI, we will then allow you to begin to teaching more independently, having one of our experienced instructors on hand to supervise and answer any questions that might arise.
The MSDT program is split up in two parts;
-The MSDT Prep which includes 5 Instructor Specialty ratings PLUS the Nitrox/Enriched Air Instructor Specialty rating. The MSDT Prep program is 22.500,-Baht
-The MSDT Internship where you get to certify 25 PADI divers at various levels. Th MSDT Internship is 25.000,- Baht conducted from Koh Samui
During the 4-5 day program, you can choose to become an instructor in five of the following specialties:
- Enriched Air
- Deep Diving
- Digital Underwater Photography (DUP)
- Underwater Naturalist
- Multilevel
- Search and Recovery
- Night Dive
- Underwater Navigation
- Additional specialties available at a minimal surcharge are:
- DSAT Gas Blender
- Equipment Technician
- Semi closed Draeger Rebreather
- DPV (Underwater Scooter)
Completing the MSDT Internship and having 25 certifications behind you will certainly give you a cutting edge and a head start in finding a job in the industry. On completion of the course we will try to find you a job in either one of our own centres or a local dive shop.
